FALL 2012
"I WILL" video project in association with the Northern Illinois University Division of Student Affairs and the Student Association (SA)
"I Will" Main; featuring SA President, Delonte LeFlore."I Will" Greek |
"I Will" Resident Halls"I Will" Athletics |
ABOUT | 4-video series, featuring university students representing their own communities (Greek, Athletics, Residence Halls, and Student Association) within Northern Illinois University: making a powerful pact by peering directly in the camera, confidently, "I Will...." followed by various phrases which emphasized the importance of community and bystander awareness; videos also complementing their developed messaging and on-going campus-wide campaign, "SPEAK UP. GET HELP. JUST ACT."
Director's Notes | The final videos were presented to a large room of faculty, staff, students and teachers; and I do remember the joy of the students after seeing their scripts and their friends and peers come to life on the screen. Proud mentors, too. Viewed a decade later, they remind me of the skills I was first testing out as a new(ish) video director and creative in the editing space (like how delicate the process of capturing the true essence of a person's character through the lens/screen.) I also reflect on how essential clubs and organizations are to the life of a campus and the future generations of thinkers and doers.
